Okay... I've seen a LOT of films, and I mean a LOT and about 9/10 times I can guess whats going to happen in the film just by watching the trailer but this film wasn't at all what I expected.
Horror and comedy films are my favorites and normally when I go to see a comedy I know the kind of funny stunts they'll try to pull, but with this film... I don't know. Something was just different. It could have possibly been because most comedy's I've seen have had male leads but this one was basically all girls with one guy who pops up now and again.
I have to say, even though it was refreshingly different, I don't think I'd see it again for a while. Yes, there was funny parts. But after having a good old laugh at one part... it went kind of dead for ages until the next laugh out loud scene. So for me it kind of dragged on.
Also Kristen Wiig (who played Annie the lead role) didn't give off a good vibe to me. When I watch a film I want to like the main character and with her I just didn't. I really tried but some of her acting just made me cringe. But I did think that Maya Rudolph (who played the bride) did a really good job and thought she delivered some really funny lines. But of course I thought the funniest one in the film was Melissa McCarthy. But yes I could just be thinking that because I love the Gilmore girls but I think her acting was brilliant and some of her one liners made me cry with laughter. She should have been in every scene of the film! Oh and one quick thing, I personally don't think this is the kind of boyfriend you should beg your boyfriend to watch with you, this one is defiantly one to watch with the girls.
So overall I'd give this film a 7/10. Some people love this film but it could have been a lot better for me.
